Forgiveness Story

QUOTE OF THE DAY: Our Father which art in heaven,Hallowed be thy name,Thy kingdom come,Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
--- Matthew 6:9-13 - KJV

When I was a kid there was this skinny, neighborhood bully who would taunt me. I thought it was because of his religion, believe it or not. Many years later it was brought to my attention that I needed to begin forgiving people in order to receive spiritual healing and live in peace with myself and others. I did not even know what this person was talking about. She told me to close my eyes and think of people to forgive. This childhood boy came into my mind as we were involved in a snowball fight. Immediately, the woman talking me through this experience told me to tell her where I saw Jesus Christ. When I said that I saw Jesus Christ in the place of this boy, I began crying so hard in shame. I also saw Jesus Christ in the place where I stood. I knew indubitably I could forgive him, and in one more instant it was over. I was refreshed, cleansed, and felt completely forgiven. When we remember what we are forgiven for it is easy to forgive others. I had forgotten, but then I was made aware even in this old memory. I was forgiven as I forgave him.

If people out there in Blogland are still harboring resentments or not giving forgiveness, this is a place where you can begin to work out this issue. A goal here for you is to be spiritually refreshed. Please feel free to share your journey in the comments on these pages.

The very first instance of forgiveness found in the New Testament of the Bible is in the Lord's prayer, making this a treemendously significant usage. God Bless your meditation on Him.

Our Father which art in heaven,Hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.
Amen.
--- Matthew 6:9-13 - King James Version (KJV)
