You know when there's nothing to talk about anymore in a conversation when people resort to discussing the weather. These are talks that are distasteful to me. So...sorry, but...
Today, it rained. The wind whipped up some and 45 mph gusts are expected.
That's the boring stuff.
Hah, here's something.
I am planning a meeting with a gifted musician to collaborate on some compositions. I am hopeful my contributions will prove to be a blessing to the hearers. I have mostly been working on the lyrics and melodies. The rest will come. My friend Molly is pretty great. Along with the job of having four gorgeous children and a husband, Molly works at the church, is the worship leader, and has a women's group named Bloom, too. I would love one-fifth of her energy.

Problems are just solutions in work clothes!

Did you ever get yourself so worked up over the "traumas" of the day? The sure seem overwhelming at the time, don't they? This is merely an illusion of smoke and mirrors which must be seen through so that the day can be gotten on with.
After all, why sit in a stew when it's not even cold enough to make a stew?
Anyway, I think if we would just relax and take the steps we need to, we would see how God works it all out. We have "victory in Christ". (I John 5:4) God knew ahead of time we would be in any given situation, so giving Him charge of that will honor Him and honor the trust He deserves.
Problems being solutions in work clothes is quite apt since there is a "teamworking" involved between God and us to get through these situations. It is important we trust and God ALWAYS does His work.

Setting You Up
Before Pastor Jim began his sermon this mornimg, he warned us that he was setting us up. Not liking surprises himself or times when he feels put on the spot, he was just being thoughtful. Then here comes the wind-up, then, the pitch, to mix sports metaphors, as you will see, and he says leadingly, "Are you ready for some_____ ?(fill in the blank)? Some of the congregation plays along with a half-hearted answer of "football", knowing this had to be the wrong answer, but also realizing that today is the beginning of the pro football season. Jim says, "...Romans!"
Romans is the grand First Epistle of the Bible and the content discusses such issues as faith, righteousness, justification, how to tell the counterfeit from the genuine spiritually, as well as spiritual gifts, and how to interract with fellow believers in times of disagreement. We must keep our hearts in unity against all unrighteousness in the most loving, yet tenacious manner, preotecting each other by renewing our minds and sharing our faith. [Think about it this way: Christ set us up (in a good way), where we do not have to fall down never able to get up again, in a spiritual sense. He is our righteousness, and we look to Him for whom we are, and for whom we desire to be, in response to His love.]
Since no one but Christ Himself has been able to keep spiritual tenets perfectly, our example continues to be His life, not leaving us off the hook, but spurring us on in living out the laws of love and faith, in which we would not go against the Ten Commandments. Realizing His love and all-covering forgiveness allows us to continue doing good things, thus giving all glory to God, the Father, who is worthy of all praise.
